Welcome to Los Niños

What Makes Los Niņos Special?

Learning derives from cultural activity, spontaenously built on the experiences of one's environment.

And among learning, no other subject is so closely bound to the cultural experience than language learning. Learning a second language cannot be reduced to a couple hours a week, nor to memorizing a few simple words.

Children, any of us, for that matter, learn best and most efficiently when all our senses are engaged in the learning experience. Los Niņos teachers all speak Spanish as their native language, and work with the children on a Spanish-first basis. The teachers follow-up in English as needed, though it rapidly becomes less and less necessary as the the children become accustomed to the language. And, of course, Los Niņos teaches your child all the basics that they will need for a successful entry into kindergarten and beyond.

By enveloping the learning experience within the Spanish language, the children assimilate far more rapidly. They go beyond mere vocabulary and associate their new-found language directly with their every day experience.

As a quick example, prior to snack-time, the children hear not "Wash your hands, please" but rather "Niņos, lavanse sus manos"

So rather than simply seeing flash cards or other sterile techniques, the children can immediately associate "lavar" and "agua" with the actual experience of washing their hands. With daily repetition of these routines, they gain confidence and a rapid ability to expand their Spanish comprehension.

And, quite simply, the children love learning Spanish. And in the end, that's what matters most.

Los Niņos immerses children in Spanish from the first day. Children absorb the language not solely through formal instruction and vocabulary, but also through routine conversations, requests and interaction in the classrooms.

At this point, some parents may wonder how their child will adapt to such an experience. Well, don't worry anymore. Most Los Niņos children have never spoken a word of Spanish in their lives.

The children love the creative diversion language learning provides and you will see - and hear - for yourself how quickly they take to their new adventure.

So all that's left to do is to stop by for a visit and see for yourself. Call us to arrange a time to visit our school, and if you like, even arrange for a one-day trial for your child.
